| Why I Ride"Life saving," is how Scott Tedro often refers to mountain biking. As president and CEO of Sho-Air International, Scott found that his health was put to sacrifice after the devastating impact of 9/11 on the transportation and trade show industry. A normally fit individual, Scott's health suffered from insurmountable stress and never ending work days with the challenges of keeping the company profitiable. With body fat reaching new highs for Scott he also added smoking and drinking to the cycle of his health decline. Scott's health declined so seriously that he was diagnosed with systemic Lupus.
On a whim and a borrowed bicycle, Scott received a moment of clarity through a gut check of his physical fitness. Determined to fight to save his health as he did with his company, Scott applied his tenacity and relentless approach to mountain biking. In as short as one year, Scott improved every aspect of his health and even reversed his diagnosis of having Lupus. No longer a smoker or drinker, Scott consumes his time training and living a lifestyle of a competitive athlete.
Creating Team Sho-Air was a no-brainer for Scott. After experiencing the benefits of cycling first hand and becoming enthralled with eco-centric cyclists, Scott found himself in the need to support, encourage and invite individuals to the sport that saved his life. On the trails and off, for Scott, mountain biking and road cycling have truly become life saving. | Results | | 2008 | - CALIFORNIA STATE SERIES-RD#4 SPORT 45-49, 1ST
